Welcoming Nigel Daft To The Cyden Homes Team

To strengthen the Cyden Homes team, "Nigel Daft" will be joining the company as Site Manager from December 2007. Nigel brings to the company many years experience as a site manager and will be over seeing the barns at Great Coates and Manor Cottages, allowing "Rick Siddle" to concentrate on the sites at Wrawby and Barton.

Timetable & Checklist For Moving Home Pt3.

DAY BEFORE:

  • Pack personal overnight case(s)
  • Organise meals/drinks for moving day
  • Switch freezer to maximum (if moving its contents)
  • Take children to relatives or friends to stay
  • Deliver pets to kennels or elsewhere
  • Get supply of cash (e.g. Tips, meals, petrol)
  • Defrost refrigerator
  • Go to bed early!

  • Bank etc – arrange for transfer of account

New Address

In General

  • Put valuables and documents in bank/safe place
  • Tell police of imminent move
  • Check arrangements for hiring van/borrowing car
  • Confirm arrangements and timings for Gas & Electricity meter readings and disconnection at old/new address:-
  • Arrange with seller and buyer to leave off/on:- Electricity, Water & Heating
  • Arrange to leave keys at old address
  • Check arrangement for collecting keys at new address
  • Finish packing and labelling

ABOUT FOUR WEEKS TO A WEEK BEFORE:

  • Get 3 removal firms estimates for van hire
  • Choose firm: confirm arrangements
  • Alert friends and family for help on the day (packing, driving, providing meals, cleaning up)

Old Address

  • Arrange for utility meters to be read
  • Arrange for disconnection of washing machine, dishwasher
  • Arrange for carpets to be cleaned if required

New Address

  • Arrange for taking over gas, electricity
  • Arrange for reconnection of cooker, washing machine, dishwasher
  • Arrange for carpets to be laid, site dependant (may already be included)

In General

  • Notify telephone sales office of date account to be closed
  • Apply to take over telephone or request new telephone to be installed
  • Change of address cards – buy or print
  • Post office – apply for redirection of mail
  • Arrange insurance of contents at new house from moving in date
  • Start sorting and throwing out things
  • Arrange extra rubbish disposal
  • Get boxes, packing material
  • Buy stick on labels
  • Children – arrange to leave with relatives/friends
