- Prepare diagram of new house with location of furniture
- Send off change of address cards
- Bank etc – arrange for transfer of account
Old Address
Arrange cancellation of deliveries and settlement of accounts:
- Milk
- Newspapers
- Laundry
New Address
Arrange deliveries e.g. milk
In General
- Put valuables and documents in bank/safe place
- Tell police of imminent move
- Check arrangements for hiring van/borrowing car
- Confirm arrangements and timings for Gas & Electricity meter readings and disconnection at old/new address:-
- Arrange with seller and buyer to leave off/on:- Electricity, Water & Heating
- Arrange to leave keys at old address
- Check arrangement for collecting keys at new address
- Finish packing and labelling
- Prepare survival kit
